This seems very basic, but I don't get it. I have a bibliography, in alphabetical order, and 100+ additions, ditto. I wanted to merge them into a single alphabetical list. Not seeing how to do this directly within the doc, I dumped them both into a (single column) table and reordered them - no problem so far. But, first, I cannot figure out how to select the entire text within the table ('Click the blue circle' - nothing happens when I do this; 'Ctrl-A' - this selects the current cell cell.) And in any case I can't work out how to then export back to text. (One thread online said something like 'Go to Format Table Convert,' but I have no such option.) Any ideas gratefully received. Hi Rich, I think (I may be wrong) that Pages is trying to be too clever for its own good.

If you want the entire table to be converted, click anywhere in the table, click the little icon in the top left corner for selecting an entire table and then click Convert to Text.
Every way I try to copy and paste out of a Pages table back into Pages, I just get another table. Pages is detecting its own tabulated data, and trying to be helpful when by converting it into a table object when you paste back. You may have to round-trip out of Pages into a text editor (Apple's own TextEdit will work).
Click the blue circle of your table, type Cmd-C. (Not Ctrl-C, that's the Windows equivalent.) Create a new TextEdit (or similar) document, type Cmd-V. Select all with Cmd-A, then copy with Cmd-C. Switch back to Pages, click where you want to insert, and type Cmd-V: The tabulated text is pasted in - I've displayed invisibles to show the tab characters. Hope it helps, H.
